The FTP service is the most used way of transferring and sharing files and folders over the Internet and it's being used by more and more people. That's because it has a series of advantages over other file sharing methods, like e-mail for example, offering an unlimited file size and a much greater speed. But in order to access FTP servers and upload or download files, you will first need to install a FTP client. Windows includes such a client, but unfortunately, it's very difficult to use, offering just a command-line interface.

Fortunately, there are numerous FTP clients on the market which allow the user to connect to any FTP server using a graphical interface. One such application is FTP Now. After installing and launching this Windows program, the user will be presented with a welcome screen, in which he can define FTP websites, together with the username and password for each of them. An unlimited number of FTP servers can be added and each can be organized in a specific folder, for making it easier to find a certain FTP site.

After defining the connection settings, one can easily connect to any FTP server with just a single mouse click. At this point, he will be able to exchange files and folders with the FTP server using drag and drop, in a similar manner to using Windows Explorer. While a file is being transferred, real-time information will be displayed in the lower part of the interface.

Pros

It allows you to easily and quickly connect to any FTP site, by defining connection settings, including the username and password. Besides that, files and folders can be uploaded or downloaded using drag and drop. Furthermore, the interface resembles the one of Windows Explorer. What's more, real-time information can be displayed while a file is being downloaded or uploaded.

Cons

Fully using the program requires some knowledge and experience regarding FTP sites. FTP Now allows you to easily connect to any FTP website and exchange files and folders using an Explorer-like interface.
